You're Soda-lightful Card

Hello!  I can't believe it's the last day of July!  This summer flew by at warp speed, and I am nervous, excited, and a bit bummed about going back to work...  I really do love my job, and I'm grateful to have it, but the beginning of the school year is a little rough...  I'm always stressed about all of the kids getting home okay, there are some that cry in the morning, I never know exactly what to say to the little guys the first day, etc...   Once things start rollin' along, it's awesome!  :)  Anywho, today is another challenge at Krafty GirlsThe challenge this week is:  Get in Shape- create a shaped card.  I love making shaped cards (and I know a lot of other crafters do too), so this is a fun one!

Pie Love You Card & A House Built by my Niece!!!! :)

Hello and Happy Friday!!!!  To be honest, I have lost track of the days of the week, but the school year is quickly approaching!  Soon, I will not be sleeping in, acting as if every day is Saturday, etc...  One good thing about this new school year is that I will be teaching my niece!!!!  I am so excited!  She is such a brilliant, funny kid and I am excited to be her first grade teacher!  :)  At the bottom of this post you will find a special project that my niece created!  But first, here is a card that I made for the Joy's Life DT...

A2 sized card
Country Life- pie/rolling pin cut at 3.82"
Joy's Life Stamps- Yummy Puns
The Paper Studio- Farm Fresh Paper Pack

OKAY!  My niece is a very creative and crafty kid...  She made this house ALL BY HERSELF!  She is 6 years old, and this just blew me away!  When she finished this project, she asked my sister "Mommy, do you think Aunt Amy would put this on her blog?  It is about crafting."  HOW CUTE!  How could I resist?!?!?  Without further ado, here is the cute little house that Chloe built!  :)

Here is the arteest with her creation!

Front view.  She even put smoke in the chimney, added a sun, and the door opens!  The address is her birth date!

The interior.  Love the textured walls!  The TV is on the "Antarctica Channel".

Back view.  You can really see the sun on the straw here...

Love the flag and the shingled roof!

I had to get a close up of the window...  That's Mommy, Daddy, Chloe, and little Sophie (who will be born in November)!  She's already a proud big sister...  :)  You can see that my sister is a redhead too!   Hee hee..

Hope you enjoy and, as always, thank you so much for stopping by!!!!  :)

CAS Wedding Card

Hello everyone!  Had a wonderful day shopping for "teacher stuff" on Saturday, and then we had a great time at our family/friend's house last night!  We swam, ate yummy stuff, did lots of chatting, AND we got to see our friend Robin's craft room!!!!  Her craft room is a-maz-ing!!  She's also working on an adorable album for my sister & my soon to be little niece!  So fun!!!  Anywho, it's Monday, which means it's time for another challenge at Fantabulous Cricut!!!!  The challenge this week is:  Wedding Bliss- make a project for a special couple (wedding, anniversary).  This really was challening for me!  I don't know why, but I have the toughest time making wedding cards...  I love wedding cards, but I just seem to draw a complete blank whenever I'm asked to make one!  I decided to make something CAS, and I really like the end results...

This is a 4" square card

Hello Sweetie Tin

Hello!  I have had such a fun week!  My friends and I went to Los Angeles on Wednesday and watched a live taping of Chelsea Lately!!!!!  I love seeing how shows/movies are made, so it was a total blast!  The interview guest was Lionel Richie!  I love his music and it was so cool seeing him in person...  We also got to see Kate Beckinsale interviewed, but that won't air until August.  My friend Ernesto caught one of the stress balls that Chuy throws out into the audience!  We had so much fun!!!!
Today is another DT day for me at Joy's Life.  The challenge this week was to create a project using these adorable metal tins.  Joy sells these on her website, along with all of her amazing stamp sets!!!  These tins come in a pack of 3, and I can see TONS of possibilities for them!  I'm thinking baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, stocking stuffers, Valentine's Day, etc...!  The one I made would be great as a "just because" gift for someone...

Joy's Life- metal tin
Pink circle- 2" circle punch (it fits perfectly)!
Candies are cut out from some patterned paper

Recycled Dog Treat Holder

Hello everyone!!!!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  I want to thank everyone for your well wishes about my leg...  It's definitely healing, and I am able to move around pretty normally now.  I had to make several trips to the doctor, and he diagnosed me with "second degree road burn" on my lower leg!!!!  YIKES!  I got a tetanus shot, two different types of antibiotics, and lots of bandage changes!  I'm also very happy my dad is healing too, his arm has a HUGE bruise!  Soooo glad we're both getting better!  I'll share a couple pictures at the bottom of this post... Anywho, today is another challenge over at Krafty Girls!!!!  The challenge this week is: 3D projects.  I decided to turn an old peanut butter jar into a dog treat holder...  My mom hoards (I mean, collects) containers like that, so I put one of them to good use!  :)  My dogs sure do approve of this project!!!

Mini Monograms- I turned a scalloped circle into an oval H 4.10 x W 2.56"
George and Basic Shapes- oval cut at 2.94 x 2.10"
Doodletype- "yum!" cut at .76"
Peachy Keen Stamps- Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Face Assortment
Stickles- star dust, cotton candy
Patterned paper
White gel pen- stitching and paw prints
Peanut butter jar (mine's Jif, guess my mom's a "choosy mom"), hee hee
Dog treats

Okay, here are some pictures from my freak accident....

This is the "sinkhole" we fell into!  That was so scary!  I think the two pieces on the left are the ones that ate my leg!

Here's a picture of my upper leg!  This was after it was already starting to heal...  The bruise was much darker, and it looked really dark on that white leg (the camera flash really washed out what little color I do have on those legs, and trust me it's not much to begin with)!

*I won't show you the lower leg (it's way too gnarly)!  My sister is pregnant and she gets sick when she looks at it, so that pretty much sums it up!

Well...  Hope you enjoyed my treat holder!  Now head on over to Krafty Girls and link up your 3D projects!  :)

A Whole Latte Love Card

Hello!  Thank you to everyone who stopped by yesterday for the Recipe for Fun Blog Hop!  It was so fun, and I love collecting new recipes...  I'm usually the designated baker for all of our family functions.  My cousin Krystal and her husband, Andrew, are trying to de-throne me, but I won't let that happen!  :)  Today is another DT day for me at Joy's Life.  Our challenge this week was to make a shaped card...  Well, you know that I LOVE shaped cards!  I've been wanting to use this stamp for a while now, so I thought this was the perfect time.

Homemade Frozen Cookie Dough

Hello everyone and welcome to the Joy's Life Recipe for Fun Blog Hop!!!!  :)  If you just hopped here from the very talented Patty, you're in the right place!  To start at the beginning click HERE.

I have been so excited for this hop!  I LOVE cooking, and I love collecting recipes...  I have a ton of recipes that I keep in binders, and I also have a collection of cookbooks!  After I show you my project I will share with you my ALL TIME FAVORITE recipe for chocolate chip cookies!  I never use any other chocolate chip cookie recipe now that I have found this one!  I think you will also find that they are the best!

I found this idea for making frozen cookie dough on Pinterest...  During the holidays (for example) we are being given so many cookie platters, candies, etc., etc....  So, someone had the idea of making cookie dough and freezing it to give as a gift to someone.  Then, your friends and family can make the cookies when they are ready to eat them!  What an awesome idea!  This is what I did with my frozen dough...

Doodletype- "Chocolate Chip Cookies" cut at .61"

Yummy Sundae Card

Hello!  Well, my leg is still in pain and it's developing a humongous bruise under the scrapes!  I'm just trying to take it easy and not aggravate it any more than I have to (guess the housework will have to wait... hee hee)!  :)  Today is another challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!!  The challenge this week is:  Yummy Yummy- make a project with any type of summer dessert.  Everyone knows that ice cream is one of my favorite foods on this planet!  I will eat this stuff in the summer, in the winter, for breakfast, for dinner, etc....  So, naturally, I chose ice cream for my card!  :)

Have a Fintastic Day Card

Hey there everyone!  I have been so busy that I haven't been at home much at all!  Yesterday we had a very interesting day at the lake...  My dad and I fell into a concrete hole (the concrete collapsed like a sink hole while we were standing on it) and it scratched my leg up VERY badly!  Luckily, there was a very nice, cute park ranger that was able to help me with some first aid, but I'm tellin' ya my leg looks really bad!  It didn't really hurt when it happened, but now that the adrenaline has worn off... YIKES!  It was a really freaky accident, and I'm just happy that no one was hurt worse than they were!  :)  Well enough about that...  Today is another Joy's Life DT day and we were asked to use her new stamp set: Pun in the Sun.  I love puns, so this stamp set offers me lots of giggles and inspiration.

Disney Princess Dreams Come True- Flounder cut at 4.09"

Lettuce Birthday Card

Hello!  I have been camping at the beach over the last three days!  Ahhhh...  SO nice!  My family is wonderful, and I love going on "adventures" with them!  We explored the beach, made s'mores, told a lot of ridiculous jokes, etc....  Anywho, it's time for another Krafty Girls challenge!  The challenge this week is: black & white with a pop of color.  Usually when I do this combination I use turquoise or pink, but this time I decided to use green as my pop of color.  Hope you enjoy!

Homemade Bubble Bath

Hello and Happy July!  This summer is just flyin' by!  Hope you're enjoying it!  The challenge this week at Joy's Life was to create a 3D project (a.k.a. no cards or scrapbook LOs)...  As you know, I love to make cards, so this was pretty challenging!  I sat and thought about what I could make, and when I saw this sentiment, I knew right away that I wanted to make homemade bubble bath...  I have a lot of friends and family who love taking baths (I'm more of a shower kind of girl), so I know that I can definitely find someone to give this to.  I made a pretty big bottle, but this could be scaled back into smaller containers and even given away as party favors (I'm thinking baby showers, bridal showers, etc.)!  It smells sooo good and I got it all over my hands and they are really soft now!  :)  It is also really inexpensive because it uses such simple ingredients.  At the bottom of this post I have shared the formula for making your own bubble bath!

George and Basic Shapes- ovals cut at 2.13 x 3", 1.87 x 2.76"
Joy's Life Stamps- Tag You're It Set Two
Ribbon & Twine
Patterned Paper (band around is 12" x 3")
Bottle (I got mine from Cost Plus World Market)
Homemade bubble bath

Raspberry/Vanilla Bubble Bath

I got this formula from This Time, This Space.  They have a lot of different variations on their website.  *I couldn't find raspberry fragrance oil, so I used almond & vanilla and it smells wonderful!

Ingredients:
  • 8 oz. unscented liquid soap
  • 2 oz. distilled water
  • 8 drops vanilla fragrance oil
  • 6 drops raspberry fragrance oil
Directions: Mix all and pour into a container.
Pour a tablespoon or more in running water for your bath.
