You're Just Peachy Card

Hello, and long time-no-see, everyone!  I have been incredibly busy lately!!!!!!  I wrapped up another school year (with 2nd graders this time), had a huge Fiesta at my house, helped a friend plan her wedding, AND, last but not least, I GOT MARRIED!!!!  :)  It has been non-stop around here!  Now my hubby and I are working on tearing out the carpets and breathing new life into the hardwood floors in the house, so the fun just never ends...  ;)  I think often of posting on my blog, but I have just not had the time at all!  I have been working on projects, though.  I made a lot of things for my new classroom this year, made a few cards, and I put a TON of effort/planning/crafting, etc. into my wedding!  I will be posting pictures of that soon.  But for now, I have a card that I am going to enter into a couple challenges.  My grandma got really sick with pneumonia in April, and I made her this card to help cheer her up.  She is doing much better now, and we are so happy & thankful she's back to her spunky ol' self again!  Here it is!

Krafty Girls Challenge- Face Off: use a face on your project
Bitten by the Bug- Alter a Cricut cut:  I inked the edges, added Stickles, and stamped a face
Pile it On- use patterned paper

A2 sized card
Serenade- peach cut at 3.12"
Cuttlebug- chevron
Joy's Life Stamps- Everyday Occasions
Scrappy Moms Stamps- Good Eats
Peachy Keen Stamps- Everyday Character Face Assortment
Martha Stewart border punch
Stickles- star dust, lime green
Glossy Accents

That's all there is to it!  Hope you like the card, and I'll hopefully be back soon!!!!  :)

Here's a wedding picture I'll share before I do the wedding post later...  This one is my favorite picture of us from the wedding!  I'm swooning over here, it was a perfect day...  :)

Happy 8th Birthday Chloe!

Hello everyone!  I'm excited to be here with another project today!  This one is for my niece, Chloe.  Her birthday was actually on Sunday, but her party is today.  When I asked her what she wanted, she said she wants "spending money".  She's going to be going on a trip to Disneyland, so she wants some moolah to take with her!  :)  I saw this idea for a jar with a hidden "compartment" on Pinterest.  I didn't want to give my 8 year old niece a jar full of candy, so I decided to give her one of those mason jar cups instead.  Now the jar will have a function for her once she's eaten the candy.  I also wanted to add her name to the side, so I pulled out my vinyl, and voila!  Hope you enjoy...

Alphalicious- "Chloe" cut at 1"
Vinyl
Mason jar/mason jar cup
Tag made on my computer- "Happy Birthday" Captain Howdy font size 26, "sweet girl" Honey Bunches font size 48
Twine
Candy
Cardstock

To make the middle compartment, I just cut a piece of cardstock, rolled it up into a tube shape, stapled it, and then stood it up in the middle of the cup.  I then filled it with layers of Chloe's favorite, dairy free candies.  Bottom layer to top layer: Twizzler's bites, gummy worms, Sour Patch kids, Skittles, Happy Cola gummies.  I'm really excited to give this to her today!  Hope she likes it...  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Reading Incentive Bucket for the Classroom

Hello everyone!  I hope you're ready for the 3-day weekend...  I know I sure am!  I don't have a card to share today, but I do want to show you a project that I did for my classroom.  This is an idea I saw on Pinterest, and I just had to make it.  I use it as an incentive to get my students to achieve more Accelerated Reader points at school.  They have a goal of making 4 points a month, and if they reach the goal they get to "pick" a sucker from the READ bucket.  This has been a major hit in my classroom!

Here's a picture of mine, and my friend Sarah's.  My sister also made one, but she made it after this picture was taken.  :)  We have all found this to be very successful for us!

The letters on this one were cut using white vinyl, on the Cricut using Doodletype- size 2".  I then embellished it with some blingy flower stickers I had in my supplies.

The letters on this one are 1.5".  We glued the letters down onto a layered rectangle with rounded corners.  Then we mounted it to the metal bucket using foam tape.  Added some bling, and it was done.

I just put a Styrofoam ball inside my bucket (just kinda wedged it in there), then I stuck the suckers into the ball.  You can see that the ball is just sitting in the top of the bucket, and can be lifted out (no adhesive holding it in there).

Now for the super fun part!  When the students come over to "pick" a sucker, they have a chance of getting one with a green stick.  If they get a green stick, they will ALSO get a prize from the treasure box.  Everyone holds their breath when someone is picking their sucker, and they all cheer if it has green on the bottom!  :)

I think this would be a hit with many different grade levels.  My friend Sarah and I teach 2nd grade, and my sister teaches Kindergarten.  All of the kids love it!  Hope you can use it in your classroom too!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Popping By to Say Hi Card

Hello everyone!  Well, I am officially back at work after having 3 weeks off for Christmas vacation.  I wanted to feel sorry for myself, but then I realized that I had just had 3 weeks off, so I needed to just focus on that!  :)  As it turns out, I'm having a lot of fun showing off my engagement ring, and my students love looking at how "sparkly" it is!  I also missed my co-workers and students, so it's definitely not all bad... :)  I made another card for some challenges.  I was bummed that this one didn't photograph very well.  The popcorn kept looking washed out on camera, and I couldn't change it so I'm rolling with the punches!  Hope you enjoy!

Sister Act Card Challenge- anything goes, but must be a card
The Paper Players- use the chalkboard technique
Fusion Card Challenge- use the sketch and/or the picture

A2 sized card
George and Basic Shapes- I welded together some circles and shaped them with my scissors to make the popcorn
Joy's Life Stamps- Yummy Puns
Red paper strip cut at 3 1/2 x 5 1/2"
Black paper strip cut at 2 1/2 x 5 1/2"
Colored pencils/chalk (to give texture to popcorn)
Foam tape
Twine
White ink

That's all there is to it!  Thanks for "popping" by!  :)
