Y2K Card- Peachy Keen Stamps LFIF Challenge

Hello everyone!  I have had a very nice Thursday, just spent the day shopping with a wonderful friend!  :)  It's also my hubby and I's 10 year anniversary (of the day we met)!  I can't believe it's been a decade!  Anywho, the Let's Face it Friday Challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps is to create something that represents the year you graduated from high school....  This is so fun!  I graduated in 2000 (my dad was so excited I was going to be in the first graduating class in the new millenium), and so the first thing I did was Google things that happened that year....  It was so fun looking back at some of the things that were happening 11 years ago:  President Bush was elected (remember the "hanging chads" and all of that chaos with the ballots?); N'Sync, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears were the big music stars; the first season of Survivor came on (I've never watched that show); etc., etc., etc.....  I also got my driver's license that year (I don't know why I waited until I was 18)!  :)  BUT, the one thing that kept sticking out in my mind was the big hype about Y2K and the computers crashing at midnight on 1/1/2000.  In my senior pictures I even posed with a big Y2K sign (it's so funny)!  So here is what I came up with....

A2 sized card
George and Basic Shapes- computer: squares cut at 2.06" & 1", oval cut at 1.71"
Everyday Paper Dolls- girl & clothes cut at 4.52", hair cut at 4.29"
Cuttlebug- seeing spots
Peachy Keen Stamps-  Everyday Character Face Assortment
Y2K-  OCR A Extended font at size 72
Stickles- star dust
Glossy Accents
Mini button brad
Cord

This card was very simple to make (and very silly), and I was smiling the entire time I was making it!  Hope this puts a smile on your face too...  Enjoy reminiscing!  :)

** I am also submitting this in the Craft Junkie Too T.G.I.F. linky party.

Patriotic Star Shaped Card

Hello my blogging buddies!  I have been at the beach for the last 3 days, so that's why I haven't posted....  We went to Morro Bay and Pismo Beach, which are both beaches here in California.  I live about 3 hours away from the coast, and my husband and I decided we wanted to go camping, so we packed up the car and went!  :)  It was fun, but I am also excited to be home and, of course, crafting again!!!  I made this cute little patriotic card to (you guessed it) enter into a few challenges.  There are a lot of challenges going on right now that have the red, white, and blue theme.  I love this theme, and I have already made one patriotic card this year (you can see it here).  Well anywho, enough rambling, here is the card.... It's good to be back! :)

Cupcake Inspirations- create a card using the cupcake picture
My Craft Spot- use a star
Paper Playtime- use red, white, and blue & a stamp (I stamped the Happy Fourth sentiment)
Cricut Cardz- use a flag
Fantabulous Cricut- red, white, and blue
Whimsical Wednesday- patriotic, use bling, buttons, or brads (I used little star brads)
My Sheri Crafts- Independence Day
Scrappy Moms Stamps- use a patriotic cut
Use it Tuesday- use red, white, and blue & something from your stash (I used these brads for the first time)

Cricut cartridges used:
Graphically Speaking- Star cut at 5" (I welded two 5" stars together to make card base)
Independence Day-  I {heart} USA cut at 2.53", flag cut at 1.24"
My Pink Stamper stamps- Happiest Moments
Fiskars blue glitter gel pen
White gel pen
Star brads (The Paper Studio)

On the I {heart} USA, I cut it twice and then cut the heart out from one of the cuts, then I traced and filled in the inside of the letters with my blue gel pen.

Hope you enjoy!  :)

Graduation Card - Preschool :)

Well today was a very special day....  My niece, Chloe, graduated from preschool!  :)  I have to admit that during the ceremony I was getting a little teary eyed!!!    It was very cute and she looked so grown up (oh here I go again with the misty eyes)....  Anywho, I wanted to create a really special graduation card for her, so I whipped this little beauty up!   I wanted the card to look "sophisticated", but it is for a 5 year old, so I wanted it to have that kid feel to it.  She ended up loving it and that's all that really matters!!! :)

I am also going to enter this into a challenge....  Of course..... :)
365 Cards- Use one technique, one tool, and one embellishment that you are just crazy about on your card
(My favorite technique is embossing with my Cuttlebug, favorite tool is the Cricut, and favorite embellishment is Stickles)

Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge- card cut at 5.78", graduation kitty cut at 3.62"
Cuttlebug- seeing spots, d'vine swirls
My Pink Stamper stamps-  Spectacular Sayings
Stickles- star dust
Glossy Accents
White gel pen

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Enjoy! :)

Disney Auto"Goof" Book

Hello there everyone!  This is another project my friend Sarah and I made.  This is something we wanted to make that was a little different (as you know I usually make cards)....  Let me tell you a little about where the idea for this came from....  I absolutely love Disney!!!!  I live near Disneyland.  My dream vacation is to go to DisneyWorld (haven't been there yet).  I own all of the Disney DVD's.  One of my favorite movies is The Little Mermaid (it's a redhead thing).  Sometimes I dance to Disney songs with my students for P.E.  Eventhough I don't have kids, I still love going to Disneyland and I actually will tear up after walking through the gates.  It's just such a happy place!  :)  So that's just a little background about my Disney obsession! :)  So here is the autograph book that we came up with (Sarah came up with Auto"goof", she's so clever)!

YourStory 4 x 6 cover
Mickey and Friends cartridge-  Goofy cut at 3.7"
Cuttlebug- seeing spots
Sentiment was made on my computer using Kristen font at size 20
Stickles- yellow
Glossy Accents
Mini button brads
Ribbon- Paper Trey Ink

Hope you enjoy!

***I am also going to enter this in the Craft Junkie Too's T.G.I.F. Linky Party!!! :)  Oh what fun!!!

Donut & Coffee Card

I really wanted to enter the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge this week.  You are supposed to create a project using a Christmas image, but it can't be a Christmas card!  How fun!  Sooo....  I got out my Christmas Cheer cartridge and started looking for some inspiration.  When I saw the wreath it looked like a donut to me, so VOILA this is the card that popped in to my brain!!! :)  AND, what goes better with a donut than coffee?  Maybe a cup of cocoa, so this can be whatever you prefer! :)  Okay here it is......

A2 sized card
Christmas Cheer cartridge- wreath (donut) cut at 3.35", mug cut at 5.95", steam cut at 4.42"
My Pink Stamper stamps-  Spectacular Sayings
DCWV-  The Green Stack
Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter
Corner rounder
Scallop edge punch

*I used my Crop-a-Dile to make the holes bigger on the pink part of the donut so the yellow would show through more.  I also had to cut the bow off of the wreath....

Enjoy!!! :)

Link Up Love Party with K Andrew

Hey everyone, this is my third post today!!!!  Guess I'm making up for not posting yesterday!  :) This is the first time I have come across this Link Up Love Party at http://www.gettingcricky.com/  This is really fun, and I hope I do it correctly, so I don't mess up all the linking fun!
Link Up Love Party: How it Works

*Link Up Party runs from Tuesday 6/21 to Tuesday 6/28.
*Grab Kristal's (http://www.gettingcricky.com/) blinkie and post on your blog's sidebar (I can't get it to appear in my blog sidebar, so I am going to put it in my post)
*Be a follower of Kristal's blog
*Create a new blog post that is titled Link Up Love Party with K Andrew. In your post, you must mention that the link up love party is a way to get to know each other and find new blog inspiration.
*Post your favorite project that you've done in your blog post WITH ONE thing you are grateful for!
*Copy and paste the link up code into your blog post so the Inlinkz will show up on your blog
*Spread the word so everyone can join in!
*You must visit, follow, and comment on the 5 people before you AND the 5 people after you in the Inlinkz. It would be fantastic if you would visit as many as you can--maybe everyone? If you are one of the first 5 then you will need to blog the ones before you and a few more after--as long as it's a minimum of 10 near you in the link up tool/gadget)
If you do not do the above your link will be deleted, because it's just not fair to those who work so hard linking up and showing love to the ones on the list. I have two moderators who will be checking this out to keep it awesome and fun!

Okay, here goes....
One thing I am grateful for is, of course, my friends and family.  But I am also truly thankful for all of the people becoming followers of my blog.  I just started a month ago, and I am already at 50 followers!!! :)  I wasn't expecting for that to happen.
My favorite thing I posted this week is (well I have two):

Sunny Days Twisted Easel Card
AND....

Sebastian Birthday Card

Now come join in the fun!!!! :)

Link Up Party Every Month!

Sunny Days- Twisted Easel Card

There are a lot of challenges out there right now that have a summer theme.  It feels pretty appropriate because today is the first official day of summer, and in my neck of the woods we are supposed to hit a high of 105 degrees today!!!!  AAAAHHHH so HOT!!!  Anywho, I've been seeing this type of card a lot lately, and I wanted to give it a try!  It is called a twisted easel card/fold.  I did not know how to do this, so I looked it up on You Tube (the video I watched is here).  The beautiful things about this card are that it is completely flat when closed, and it fits in an A2 sized envelope!!  YAY!

Gimme a Break Challenge Blog-  anything summer
Bitten by the Bug 2-  Celebrate with Flourish "sunny days"
Celebrate the Occasion-  summer theme, must have sun
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog-  include a sun
Getting Cricky with K Andrews-  use a face

Cricut Cartridges used:
Wild Card-  sun cut at 5"
Celebrate with Flourish-  "sunny days" cut at 2.41"
Life is a Beach-  bucket and shovel cut at 2.18"
My Pink Stamper stamps-  Spectacular Sayings
Peachy Keen stamps-  Retro Paper Doll Face Assortment
Stickles- star dust
Glossy Accents
White gel pen
Yellow eyelet

Okay folks, try to stay cool on this HOT summer day!  Now I'm off to drink some water and relax!!!  :)

Cupcake Shaped Card

Hello, good morning, and Happy Father's Day!!!  My dad is working today, so we will be celebrating tomorrow....  I'm so excited to be entering another Birthday Sundaes challenge.  The task this week is to create a shaped birthday card (no squares or rectangles allowed).  I am also going to be entering this in My Craft Spot Monday challenge: create something sweet.

Birthday Bash cartridge-  card & layers cut at 5.55"
Hero Arts stamps- Birthday Messages
Martha Stewart- crystal tinsel glitter, garnet fine glitter
Stickles- star dust
Glossy Accents

I used garnet fine glitter on the cherry, and then covered it with Glossy Accents.  I learned that trick from Kimberly at My Craft Spot.  It makes it almost like a puffy sticker I used to collect in the 80's! :)  It also keeps the glitter from falling off everywhere....  Enjoy!

MPS Challenge- Snappy Birthday

Woo hoo!  I love when Robyn a.k.a. The Pink Stamper does a challenge!  Her stamps are some of my favorites, and her challenges are fun!  :)  Today's challenge is to create a birthday project (click here to see the challenge), so I came up with something that I thought was fun.  The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie, so when I pictured this card it had to have Sebastian on it!  "Under the Sea" was playing in my head the entire time I was making this! :)

Just a Note Card (Imagine)

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Sarah and I made some cards and such.  Here is one that I have been waiting to show everyone.  Sarah owns a Cricut Imagine.  I do not own one (yet), so hers has been living at my house until she can make a crafting space at her house!  :)  We are waiting until payday to get some more Imagine cartridges to try out, but this is one that we made using the Imagine More cartridge that came with her machine...

A2 sized card
Imagine More cartridge:  border cut at 1.3", piano 3.9", music notes 5", the yellow background paper was also printed from this cartridge (so cool!)
Sentiment was printed on my computer using Monotype Corsiva font at size 28

The Imagine makes it that easy to make a card! :)
