Memorial Day Card

Hello and Happy Memorial Day!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far...  I have had a good weekend.  One thing that my family did was go to a local farm and pick blueberries (a ton of blueberries to be exact) and now I'm going to make some homemade blueberry scones!  Yummmmm....  I will post pictures and the recipe soon.  :)
It is my DT week over at Fantabulous Cricut!  Our challenge this week is Memorial Day:  Make a project using the color red plus anything that makes you think of Memorial Day (ie. a flag, military symbol, or poppy).  I love making patriotic projects!  I love this country, and I appreciate all of the military members and their families who have made so many sacrifices for our freedom!!!!  I haven't made any cards for Memorial Day in the past, but I just went in the direction that I would for any patriotic holiday.  This week I was lucky enough to be chosen to use some wonderful products from our sponsor, Wild Orchid Crafts.  They have amazing products, and I have already used them on another project which you can see HERE.

Independence Day- card base cut at 4.65", I *heart* USA cut at 2.76"
Paper poppies from Wild Orchid Crafts
White gel pen

Hope you enjoy my card and the rest of your holiday weekend!  Be sure to head over to Fantabulous Cricut and link up your awesome projects!  :)

Hello there!  I am so glad you decided to stop by today!  :)  I had another good weekend, even went to my local fair on Saturday...  It's in a new location, but it still has that nostalgic feel to it!  I saw a lot of people that I know, and some of my students were there too...  Super cute little fair!  :)  Anywho, today is another challenge over at Krafty Girls!!!!  YAY!  The challenge this week is:  Copy Cat- "scraplift" an idea from someone who inspires you.   Well...  I get inspiration from tons of different bloggy friends, so this was a tough one for me...  I ended up choosing a card from Amy @ Amy's Crafting Space.  Amy has been a great bloggy friend, and this card just really stood out to me.  I like the color combination and the simple, clean design...

Here's mine:

Hello everyone!  Thanks so much to all of the awesome friends who joined us for the It's a Party Blog Hop!  There's still time to enter for a chance to win a Joy's Life stamp set of your choice.  Just go to yesterday's post for more details.  For today I have another Joy's Life DT project to share with you.  The challenge this week was to make something for a graduation...  Recently a family friend of mine graduated from college, and my niece, Chloe, is graduating from Kindergarten very soon!  We only have a couple of school weeks left!  I can't believe that I have to say goodbye to another bunch of students!  Each year I think I will be able to say good-bye without getting emotional, but I just can't do it!  It's bittersweet, that's for sure!  :)

Happy Graduation- scroll cut at 3.94"
Joy's Life Stamps- Everyday Occasions

I don't know if I will be giving this to my friend, or to my niece...  Hmmmm....  I think it could work for both, but I don't know!  :)  Here's a picture of me and my niece doing some gardening last week...  She came over and helped me plant some flowers and then she spent the night...  We had so much fun! :)  I'm also excited that she is the top reader in Kindergarten, and she will be in my class next year!  It's so special that I get to teach my niece!!!!

It's a Party Blog Hop!!!

Woo hoo!  Hello and welcome to the Joy's Life DT It's a Party Blog Hop!  If you just hopped here from the very talented Patty, you're in the right place!  :)

As most of you know, I love to make cards...  Well, this blog hop is quite the challenge for cardmakers like me!  :)  I couldn't come up with an idea for the longest time, and then suddenly it hit me...  I love animals, so I decided to make a "forest friends" themed party...  This could be for someone's birthday, or a baby shower, etc...

All of the sentiments are from the Joy's Life Wild Life Puns Stamp Set!  Super cute!

I made these by using my 2" and 1.5" circle punches.  The owl image is from Hero Arts, and the fox image is from Hampton Arts.  I just attached them to a toothpick and VOILA you have the world's easiest cupcake toppers!

These pillow boxes are cut from the Wedding cartridge at 4.65".  Both animals were cut from Create a Critter: deer cut at 2.29", squirrel cut at 1.94".

This place card holder is just a folded piece of cardstock, stamped with a Joy's Life stamp, and then I cut the owl from Create a Critter at 1.71".  My handwriting is not the best, but you get the idea... :)

***NOW!  Would it really be a party without a giveaway?!?!?!  Well...  Joy is so generous and she is donating a stamp set to one lucky follower!  You will get to choose which stamp set you want out of all of Joy's amazing stamps!!!!  :)  For a chance to win, become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment on this post...  Yahoo!!!  :)

Okay, you're next stop on the hop is the talented Jennie!  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Here's the order if you need it:

You're One of a Kind Mom

Hello there!  I had a good weekend!  I went to a party on Saturday and then I was able to get my house completely clean on Sunday!  I love a clean house!!!!!  :)   Today I have another post for Joy's Life DT!  The challenge this week was to make something for Mother's Day and include flowers....  I'm not sure if I will give this to my mom or to my grandma....  Decisions, decisions....  :)  They are both the best ladies ever!  My grandma actually just revealed to me that she used to be on a bowling team when she was younger!  I can't believe she was holding back that kind of information!  She's so cute, and I can just picture her down at the bowling alley (she was definitely better than I am)!  :)  Anywho, here's my card & it's Cricut-less again!  I don't know what's gotten into me lately!

4 1/2" square card
Cuttlebug- argyle
Joy's Life Stamps- Sweet Popsicle Puns
Paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts (they have awesome stuff)

I kept this simple, and I like the results...  Have a great day!  :)

Giveaway Winners and Stuff!

Hey everyone!  It's time for me to announce the winners from the Teacher Gifts Blog Hop and the Save the Earth Fantabulous Cricut Crawl!  YAY!  I can't believe it has taken me this long to post the winners (especially for my teacher giveaway), but I haven't been home very much...  Last week (and this week) I went bowling with my cousin and her husband.  He is on a team, and he is making me and my cousin want to join a team.  My cousin and I were bowling with him and another guy (totally adorable by the way) and they were telling us that our horrible scores would actually help a team...  I would join or form my own team, and I'm not even kidding!  :)

Anywho, before I announce the winners, I will show you what my class has been up to!  We have been working really hard in our school garden, and we've also been raising our own butterflies!  I have been doing this activity for the last 7 years, and I am still amazed that a caterpillar turns into a butterfly!  :)  My students said that we must be great "parents" because all of our butterflies were healthy and happy!  How cute!!!

I'm very nerdy (and proud of it) and I wore a butterfly shirt for the release!  :)  The kids felt the release was bittersweet...  They were proud, but they would have liked keeping them longer.

Our school garden!  We have onions, flowers, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, carrots, etc....  The kids water, weed, plant everything, sweep, etc.  They are very good gardeners!  :)

Okay, for the moment you've all been waiting for....  The giveaway winners!

**For the Teacher Gifts Blog Hop, the winner is....

#7- Georgiana!!!!  This is perfect because she is also a teacher!  :)

**For the Save the Earth Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, the winner is....

#43- Marcia!!!!

Congratulations ladies!  Thank you to everyone who entered my giveaways!  Your support of me and this lil' ol' blog means a lot to me!  :)
