Hello everyone!!!! I'm still here, ha ha! It's been so hard for me to post, but I have made a lot of things, taken pictures of all of them, AND wrote down the directions for making them... they've just never been posted... So much has been happening, especially seeing as it's been a year since I posted last! One big thing that my husband and I did was move. It's still in my same little town, but we are in love with our new house! We hope it will be our forever home, but it was still a little bittersweet to let the old house go. It's also been weird crafting in a new space, but I think I've got the hang of it! I told my hubby that I really, REALLY want to start crafting more and posting on my blog again! Hopefully he'll let me slip away from his side occasionally, so that I can accomplish that goal! :) Anywho, it felt really good to make this card and find some challenges that I can enter it into, so here it goes...

Hello everyone, and Happy Friday!!!! I'm so glad that the weekend is finally here! The arrival of May has brought some pretty HOT weather our direction... It was over 90 degrees today! But the arrival of May also brings my dad's birthday! Today is officially his day and grandma calls him her "little May basket". I always thought that was cute! :) Dad loves getting a homemade card from me, so I went to town on creating this little ol' thing! I have a harder time making masculine cards, but I'm pretty pleased with this one. :)
Hello everyone!!!! Happy Spring! I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods, but here in California we are having VERY warm days. Not my favorite type of weather, but we are getting by just fine! Also, it just means we get to barbeque a little earlier... ;) Okay, I'm getting way off topic... Yesterday was my grandma's 84th birthday! I made her this card and I made her a birthday cake! Grandma always makes the cake for everyone's birthday, soooo this time she got to just sit back and enjoy the cake! Love you grandma!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Hello again!!!! Today was my first day back at work after Christmas vacation... Not fun to get up early, but very fun to see the kiddos again. They were so excited to be back at school today! Hello everyone! I'm excited to be here with another project today! This one is for my niece, Chloe. Her birthday was actually on Sunday, but her party is today. When I asked her what she wanted, she said she wants "spending money". She's going to be going on a trip to Disneyland, so she wants some moolah to take with her! :) I saw this idea for a jar with a hidden "compartment" on Pinterest. I didn't want to give my 8 year old niece a jar full of candy, so I decided to give her one of those mason jar cups instead. Now the jar will have a function for her once she's eaten the candy. I also wanted to add her name to the side, so I pulled out my vinyl, and voila! Hope you enjoy...

To make the middle compartment, I just cut a piece of cardstock, rolled it up into a tube shape, stapled it, and then stood it up in the middle of the cup. I then filled it with layers of Chloe's favorite, dairy free candies. Bottom layer to top layer: Twizzler's bites, gummy worms, Sour Patch kids, Skittles, Happy Cola gummies. Hello everyone! I am back again with another card! Can't believe I'm actually crafting and posting again... So fun! The card I made today is for my sister. Her birthday is actually on Saturday, but I wanted to enter this in some challenges, so I'm posting it early. Now, this birthday is not just any birthday... It's her 30th birthday! Hard to wrap my head around the fact that my one-and-only little sister is entering her 30's! She's such an awesome person, and I hope she really likes this card!
Hello everyone! I can't believe this is the first post I have done in February!!!!! Oh my goodness! There has been a lot going on for me, including the worst flu ever!!!! I have not been this sick since high school! My students are also dropping like flies, so I am disinfecting my room every chance I get... Unfortunately the flu meant that I didn't have a very exciting birthday either, and my poor little niece was sick on her birthday too. We did have her awesome dinosaur birthday party today, so we made up for being sick on our actual birthdays! :) One good thing that happened on my birthday was that my boyfriend sent me roses! They were delivered to my school, and it was sweet, adorable, and completely unexpected! :) Anywho, here is the card that I made for my niece, and because I've been missing for so long, I will also show you pictures of her party (there's some cute ideas there), and I'll share a recipe for the punch that we made...

Okay, here are some pictures from my niece's dinosaur themed birthday party! A lot of these ideas are things my sister found on Pinterest... The party was an absolute hit, and I think all of the kids AND adults had fun!!!! :)
We made the spewing lava by pouring melted sugar over ice cubes. It created those really cool twisted looking pieces!
These were the "goodie bags". Each kid took home a dinosaur egg (paper mache), then cracked it open when they got home. Parents were texting pictures of their kid opening up the egg (so exciting)! :)
Here's the birthday weirdo, I mean kid... She loves T-Rex! The kids also got to do a really cool dinosaur fossil hunt at night. My sister made fossils out of dough, then we hid them all over the yard. When it got dark, we had the kids look for fossils using flashlights. Everyone really loved that activity! :)
Here's the recipe for the Luscious Slush Punch. Now, in the picture it doesn't look very "luscious" or "slushy", but trust me, it was really good!
Bring the
sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin to a boil in a large
saucepan; boil for 3 minutes. Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon juice,
and orange juice. Divide mixture into 2 separate containers and freeze.
Combine the
contents of 1 container with 1 bottle of the lemon-lime flavored
carbonated beverage in a punch bowl; stir until slushy. Repeat with
remaining portions as needed.
