Hello again!!!! Today was my first day back at work after Christmas vacation... Not fun to get up early, but very fun to see the kiddos again. They were so excited to be back at school today! They said it felt like they had been gone for 3 years! :) Anywho, I am back with another card today! YAY! This card is going to be given to my sister for her birthday later this month. And, of course, I'm going to enter this into a few challenges...
Hello everyone! I can't believe this is the first post I have done in February!!!!! Oh my goodness! There has been a lot going on for me, including the worst flu ever!!!! I have not been this sick since high school! My students are also dropping like flies, so I am disinfecting my room every chance I get... Unfortunately the flu meant that I didn't have a very exciting birthday either, and my poor little niece was sick on her birthday too. We did have her awesome dinosaur birthday party today, so we made up for being sick on our actual birthdays! :) One good thing that happened on my birthday was that my boyfriend sent me roses! They were delivered to my school, and it was sweet, adorable, and completely unexpected! :) Anywho, here is the card that I made for my niece, and because I've been missing for so long, I will also show you pictures of her party (there's some cute ideas there), and I'll share a recipe for the punch that we made...
Birthday Bash- number 7 cut at 5.94"
Create a Critter- T-Rex cut at 3.59", other dinosaur cut at 3.47"
Sweet Treats- gift cut at 1.35", party hat cut at 1.35"
Cuttlebug- circle pattern (Papertrey Ink)
My Creative Time Stamps- Wow! So Many Candles
Stickles- star dust, yellow, magenta, lime green
Okay, here are some pictures from my niece's dinosaur themed birthday party! A lot of these ideas are things my sister found on Pinterest... The party was an absolute hit, and I think all of the kids AND adults had fun!!!! :)
We made the spewing lava by pouring melted sugar over ice cubes. It created those really cool twisted looking pieces!
These were the "goodie bags". Each kid took home a dinosaur egg (paper mache), then cracked it open when they got home. Parents were texting pictures of their kid opening up the egg (so exciting)! :)
Here's the birthday weirdo, I mean kid... She loves T-Rex! The kids also got to do a really cool dinosaur fossil hunt at night. My sister made fossils out of dough, then we hid them all over the yard. When it got dark, we had the kids look for fossils using flashlights. Everyone really loved that activity! :)
Here's the recipe for the Luscious Slush Punch. Now, in the picture it doesn't look very "luscious" or "slushy", but trust me, it was really good!
Bring the
sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin to a boil in a large
saucepan; boil for 3 minutes. Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon juice,
and orange juice. Divide mixture into 2 separate containers and freeze.
Combine the
contents of 1 container with 1 bottle of the lemon-lime flavored
carbonated beverage in a punch bowl; stir until slushy. Repeat with
remaining portions as needed.
Okay everyone... Thanks for stopping by, and I'm sorry it's been so long!
Hello everyone! I am in shock that we are in our last week of September!!!!! I honestly can't believe it! I have Parent/Teacher conferences this week, so that should be interesting... It is also my mom's birthday this week (it's on Thursday, Sep. 27th)! Happy Birthday Mom!!!! Not sure if I will be giving this card to her, or if I will be making another one... we'll see... :) Anywho, it is time for another challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!!! This week's challenge is: Birthday Celebration- make a birthday project using a candle. This challenge is being sponsored by Zva Creations, and I was lucky enough to be sent some of their "bling" to try out!
Well that's all there is to it! Hope you will join in the fun this week at Fantabulous Cricut! You can't ever have too many birthday cards lying around! :)

Hello! Well, my leg is still in pain and it's developing a humongous bruise under the scrapes! I'm just trying to take it easy and not aggravate it any more than I have to (guess the housework will have to wait... hee hee)! :) Today is another challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!! The challenge this week is: Yummy Yummy- make a project with any type of summer dessert. Everyone knows that ice cream is one of my favorite foods on this planet! I will eat this stuff in the summer, in the winter, for breakfast, for dinner, etc.... So, naturally, I chose ice cream for my card! :)

Hello there!!! I am so glad that you decided to stop by! :) Today is another challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut!!! The challenge this week is On the Go- create a project with some sort of transportation (bike, car, scooter, etc.). I was "on the go" on Saturday night! My friend, her sister, and I went to Buck Owen's Crystal Palace, which is about an hour from where I live. It was soooo fun! This is the same place that I went to for my 30th birthday in February. Let me tell ya, it's my kind of place! They have dancing, a live band playing country music (all my favorite songs), and yummy food! It is just a great time! I can't really line dance very well (despite my stint as a "professional" line dancing kid), but it's still fun to get out on the floor and try! :) Oh, and one of the band members kept blinding us with his guitar shine on purpose (and he would giggle each time), so... I told the girls "Let's put our sunglasses on the next time he does that", and we did and he couldn't stop laughing on that stage! I'll post some pictures at the bottom of this post, take a peek if you'd like! hee hee...
Birthday Bash- card base cut at 4.41", square cut at 4.76"
Pack Your Bags- car/camper cut at 1.47"

**Now, as promised, here are the pictures of my little adventure... Try as I may, I could not get rid of the red-eye on these pictures!!!! Grrr.....
Me and my friend's sister, Rebekah. That car (I think it's a Cadillac) is over the bar, and it's signed by a TON of famous country singers and such! :)
Look, he's such a gentleman, he's holding my purse! :)
My friend, Sarah, and I posing with Merle Haggard...
Me and George Strait!!!! He's my favorite country singer.... I've always loved him!
Another one with George... I just couldn't get enough of him! :)
Hello everyone! It's another design team day for me at Joy's Life! :) I am having so much fun being on this design team! The stamps are so fun to work with, and I love the set I used today (Everyday Occasions) because you can mix and match so many different sayings... The challenge today was to make a card that moves... I decided to break out my brand new Action Wobbles and give them a try! Man, they really do shake around a lot!!!! I love them! I decided since this card has movement, I would keep the other details simple...

Hello everyone! I had a great day today! My students and I went out and picked some broccoli from our school garden, and they were munching and crunching their hearts out! They were so excited to eat that "healthy stuff" that feeds their brains and bellies! :) They are also very excited because tomorrow is the 100th Day of School! This year is flying by! Anywho.... The challenge at FCCB this week is to create a 3" x 3" Valentine card... I didn't know just how tiny that would be, but I decided to make one.... Anyone who knows me, knows that I love miniatures! This card literally fits in the palm of my hand!!! Too adorable! I feel like I want to make more of these little cutie patooties! :)

Hello and Happy Friday the 13th everyone! :) Next month is my niece's birthday. Chloe will be 6 years old very soon! She loves Ariel (my favorite character too), so I knew that I had to use that on her card... I will also be entering this into a couple of challenges (of course)... :)
Hey everyone!!! I am so excited to be a guest designer over at Birthday Sundaes!!! I am also excited that I was able to get back into my craft room and make something! It felt great to go through my paper packs, stamps, etc.... I am feeling so much better and I had a great time yesterday at a tarantula festival! I have a major case of aracnophobia, but I actually let a real, live tarantula crawl across the back of my hand!!!! It was a really proud moment for me to overcome such a huge fear of mine! I will be posting some pictures later from the festival, and hopefully a card to go with it.... :) Now onto my card for Birthday Sundaes... I love this challenge blog (it's one of my faves)! The challenge was to create a birthday card with any theme... I hope you enjoy what I came up with, and that you will check out all of the other guest designer's blogs! :)
