Hello everyone! Well, another school year is about to come to an end (only 18 school days left), and with it there are sometimes many changes. Our school is "losing" two awesome teachers, as they begin their journey into retirement! Now... I love my job... but, I can't help but feel a bit envious over their new freedom! On another note one of the retiring teachers, Jan, is the one who sold me her "barely used" Cricut Explore Air!!!! I am in love with the possibilities of this new machine, but also overwhelmed with how to use Design Space, etc. I was so used to my Gypsy and my Cricut Expression that now it seems to take me forever to cut anything. I know I'll get used to it, and I do love what this baby can do! :) Anywho, I was asked to make their retirement cards and these little beauties are what I came up with... Hope you enjoy!

Hello everyone!!!! I'm still here, ha ha! It's been so hard for me to post, but I have made a lot of things, taken pictures of all of them, AND wrote down the directions for making them... they've just never been posted... So much has been happening, especially seeing as it's been a year since I posted last! One big thing that my husband and I did was move. It's still in my same little town, but we are in love with our new house! We hope it will be our forever home, but it was still a little bittersweet to let the old house go. It's also been weird crafting in a new space, but I think I've got the hang of it! I told my hubby that I really, REALLY want to start crafting more and posting on my blog again! Hopefully he'll let me slip away from his side occasionally, so that I can accomplish that goal! :) Anywho, it felt really good to make this card and find some challenges that I can enter it into, so here it goes...

Hello! It's Tuesday, you know what that means... Another Krafty Girls challenge!!!! The challenge this week is: Die Cuts- create any project, and incorporate a die cut. I felt like this was almost an "anything goes" challenge because I use die cuts on everything I make!!! When the sky's the limit, it's really tough for me to narrow down what I want to make. When that happens to me, I just go to my stamp sets and start looking for a sentiment I want to use, then the ideas just start flowin'! This card would be perfect to send to someone who you are missing...

Hello everyone! I can't believe this is the first post I have done in February!!!!! Oh my goodness! There has been a lot going on for me, including the worst flu ever!!!! I have not been this sick since high school! My students are also dropping like flies, so I am disinfecting my room every chance I get... Unfortunately the flu meant that I didn't have a very exciting birthday either, and my poor little niece was sick on her birthday too. We did have her awesome dinosaur birthday party today, so we made up for being sick on our actual birthdays! :) One good thing that happened on my birthday was that my boyfriend sent me roses! They were delivered to my school, and it was sweet, adorable, and completely unexpected! :) Anywho, here is the card that I made for my niece, and because I've been missing for so long, I will also show you pictures of her party (there's some cute ideas there), and I'll share a recipe for the punch that we made...

Okay, here are some pictures from my niece's dinosaur themed birthday party! A lot of these ideas are things my sister found on Pinterest... The party was an absolute hit, and I think all of the kids AND adults had fun!!!! :)
We made the spewing lava by pouring melted sugar over ice cubes. It created those really cool twisted looking pieces!
These were the "goodie bags". Each kid took home a dinosaur egg (paper mache), then cracked it open when they got home. Parents were texting pictures of their kid opening up the egg (so exciting)! :)
Here's the birthday weirdo, I mean kid... She loves T-Rex! The kids also got to do a really cool dinosaur fossil hunt at night. My sister made fossils out of dough, then we hid them all over the yard. When it got dark, we had the kids look for fossils using flashlights. Everyone really loved that activity! :)
Here's the recipe for the Luscious Slush Punch. Now, in the picture it doesn't look very "luscious" or "slushy", but trust me, it was really good!
Bring the
sugar, water, and strawberry flavored gelatin to a boil in a large
saucepan; boil for 3 minutes. Stir in the pineapple juice, lemon juice,
and orange juice. Divide mixture into 2 separate containers and freeze.
Combine the
contents of 1 container with 1 bottle of the lemon-lime flavored
carbonated beverage in a punch bowl; stir until slushy. Repeat with
remaining portions as needed.

Hello! Today is another challenge over at Krafty Girls! Woo hoo! The challenge this week is: Very Punny- use a pun. I was so excited to see this theme because I love puns! I am a huge nerd, so I get a real kick out of anything that is punny... The card that I made today serves a double function. Hey there everyone! I have been so busy that I haven't been at home much at all! Yesterday we had a very interesting day at the lake... My dad and I fell into a concrete hole (the concrete collapsed like a sink hole while we were standing on it) and it scratched my leg up VERY badly! Luckily, there was a very nice, cute park ranger that was able to help me with some first aid, but I'm tellin' ya my leg looks really bad! It didn't really hurt when it happened, but now that the adrenaline has worn off... YIKES! It was a really freaky accident, and I'm just happy that no one was hurt worse than they were! :) Well enough about that... Today is another Joy's Life DT day and we were asked to use her new stamp set: Pun in the Sun. I love puns, so this stamp set offers me lots of giggles and inspiration.

As most of you know, I love to make cards... Well, this blog hop is quite the challenge for cardmakers like me! :) I couldn't come up with an idea for the longest time, and then suddenly it hit me... I love animals, so I decided to make a "forest friends" themed party... This could be for someone's birthday, or a baby shower, etc...
I made these by using my 2" and 1.5" circle punches. The owl image is from Hero Arts, and the fox image is from Hampton Arts. I just attached them to a toothpick and VOILA you have the world's easiest cupcake toppers!
These pillow boxes are cut from the Wedding cartridge at 4.65". Both animals were cut from Create a Critter: deer cut at 2.29", squirrel cut at 1.94".
This place card holder is just a folded piece of cardstock, stamped with a Joy's Life stamp, and then I cut the owl from Create a Critter at 1.71". My handwriting is not the best, but you get the idea... :)

I was having a tough time coming up with an idea, so I took out my stamp sets and tried to find some inspiration that way... I have to do this sometimes and it really does help! Hello everyone!!!! Today is another fun challenge over at Krafty Girls! YAY!!! The challenge this week is For Peep's Sake!- create a project for Easter. I had so much fun making this card!!! I love spring time (even though that means summer is approaching!).... I love all of the cute spring decor items at the stores, the longer hours of daylight, planting my garden, and all of the little baby animals! I think that little chicks are one of the cutest things on this planet! They just scream "spring" to me! I do not like them once they are grown up, though.... Roosters kind of freak me out a little bit... Those claws are just too much! I almost had a rooster run into my classroom one day, and I just know that he was enjoying watching me squirm! Wow, I can't believe I just admitted all of that.... Okay, on to the card! :)
