Thank You Card

Hey everyone!  Well I am officially on summer break now!  Woo hoo!!!!!!  It doesn't quite feel like it yet because I'm taking a class for the next two weeks, but it still feels nice!  :)  I am in desperate need of some thank you cards right now because I have had a lot of people helping me out lately...  I have decided to make the move from teaching 1st Grade to 2nd Grade!!!!  *biting off fingernails*  My principal was practically begging me, and I really love that grade level, so... I'm taking a leap of faith!  It was definitely not an easy decision, and it was quite bittersweet...  I'm ready for the change, but I didn't want to leave my comfort zone!  I shed a little tear when I left my old room for the last time...  Anywho, my friend Sarah will be the recipient of this card because she helped me pack up my old classroom, put everything away in my new room, and she's going to help me decorate the walls!  :)  AND this card meets the requirements of the new Krafty Girls challenge!  The challenge this week is:  Pinterest Inspired.  Make a card you were inspired to make by something you saw on Pinterest.  I think we can all safely say that Pinterest is addicting, and when I saw this card I knew I just had to make it myself!  Here we go...

http://www.weeklyscrapper.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/113.jpeg
Here was my inspiration... so cute!  I love the bakers twine wrapped around the letters!  This is from Weekly Scrapper.

Okay, here's what I came up with...

A2 sized card
Mini Monograms- scalloped circle cut at 5"
Doodletype- "thank" bold cut at 1.35", "you" cut at 1.24"
Bakers twine
A la Mode- sparkle embossing powder
Rhinestones

THANK YOU for stopping by, and I hope you'll join us over at Krafty Girls for the Pinterest inspired challenge!  :)

P.S.  Mom and Dad you will be getting a thank you card for all of your help too!

P.P.S.  Because of this challenge title, I can't get Chicago's "You're the Inspiration" out of my head now!  :)

Recycled Dog Treat Holder

Hello everyone!!!!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  I want to thank everyone for your well wishes about my leg...  It's definitely healing, and I am able to move around pretty normally now.  I had to make several trips to the doctor, and he diagnosed me with "second degree road burn" on my lower leg!!!!  YIKES!  I got a tetanus shot, two different types of antibiotics, and lots of bandage changes!  I'm also very happy my dad is healing too, his arm has a HUGE bruise!  Soooo glad we're both getting better!  I'll share a couple pictures at the bottom of this post... Anywho, today is another challenge over at Krafty Girls!!!!  The challenge this week is: 3D projects.  I decided to turn an old peanut butter jar into a dog treat holder...  My mom hoards (I mean, collects) containers like that, so I put one of them to good use!  :)  My dogs sure do approve of this project!!!

Mini Monograms- I turned a scalloped circle into an oval H 4.10 x W 2.56"
George and Basic Shapes- oval cut at 2.94 x 2.10"
Doodletype- "yum!" cut at .76"
Peachy Keen Stamps- Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed Face Assortment
Stickles- star dust, cotton candy
Patterned paper
White gel pen- stitching and paw prints
Peanut butter jar (mine's Jif, guess my mom's a "choosy mom"), hee hee
Dog treats

Okay, here are some pictures from my freak accident....

This is the "sinkhole" we fell into!  That was so scary!  I think the two pieces on the left are the ones that ate my leg!

Here's a picture of my upper leg!  This was after it was already starting to heal...  The bruise was much darker, and it looked really dark on that white leg (the camera flash really washed out what little color I do have on those legs, and trust me it's not much to begin with)!

*I won't show you the lower leg (it's way too gnarly)!  My sister is pregnant and she gets sick when she looks at it, so that pretty much sums it up!

Well...  Hope you enjoyed my treat holder!  Now head on over to Krafty Girls and link up your 3D projects!  :)

Birthday Wishes Card

Hello everyone!  It's another design team day for me at Joy's Life!  :)  I am having so much fun being on this design team!  The stamps are so fun to work with, and I love the set I used today (Everyday Occasions) because you can mix and match so many different sayings...  The challenge today was to make a card that moves...  I decided to break out my brand new Action Wobbles and give them a try!  Man, they really do shake around a lot!!!!  I love them!  I decided since this card has movement, I would keep the other details simple...

A2 sized card
Birthday Bash- dog cut at 4.41"
Mini Monograms- circle & scalloped circle cut at 2.53"
Joy's Life Stamps- Everyday Occasions

P.S.  I also wanted to give a huge thank you to Diana @ D.L. Art & Georgiana @ Carson's Creations for passing along the Versatile Blogger Award to me!  These ladies are very talented, sweet bloggy friends and I am honored that they thought of me!  You can see my original post for this award HERE.  Thanks again ladies!!!

Conversation Hearts Valentine Coupons

Hello everyone!!!  I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day yesterday!  My day was wonderful!  My students were so adorable, and they could hardly wait until after lunch to pass our their Valentines!  They kept asking me all day if it was time...  They showered me with gifts, and I felt really spoiled!!!  One of my kids said that "I spoil them, and they spoil me"!  How cute!  :)  I then went up to my parents and had a nice dinner with my family....  Can't complain about that!

Yesterday I was doing a candy heart graphing activity with my students and the idea for this Valentine popped into my head!  It was like a beautiful candy lightbulb going off over my head, and I don't care that Valentine's Day is over, I had to make it!!!! :)  On the back of the little hearts I would write down little love notes, or coupons that you can give to your sweetie!  For example, I would write "good for one movie night of your choice", etc....  Hope you enjoy!!!

Sweet Cherry Card

Hello and Happy Monday everyone!  I had a great first day back with my students today!  They were so excited to be back (they felt as if it had been months) and they coudn't wait to show off their new clothes, shoes, etc. from Christmas!  :)  They were also very good considering they'd been out of the loop for 3 weeks...  They fell right back into the rules and routines (and, of course, super-fun learning)!  Hee hee...  Here is a card that I made for a few challenges.  I would give this card away as a "thank you" card or as a "just because" card.  One of the challenges was to keep it CAS (clean and simple), which can be tough for me.  I resisted to urge to start adding twine and Stickles!  :)

Made Especially for You- machine embossing
My Craft Spot- include a delicious treat (I love cherries)
CAS-ual Fridays- use chipboard
Frosted Designs- cardstock only, no patterned paper
Little Red Wagon- yellow, polka dot

This is a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" square card
Country Life- cherries cut at 2.53"
Mini Monograms- scalloped circle cut at 3.47", yellow circle cut at 3.67"
Cuttlebug- argyle, polka dots
The Paper Studio- chipboard letters
Glossy Accents
Foam tape

*I cut a solid scalloped circle and then used my Crop-a-Dile to punch holes around the edge to give it a little something extra.

Hope you had a great Monday!  See you soon...  :)

Get Well Soon Card for Mom

Hello everyone!  I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday!!!  Woo hoo!  I am also relieved because my mom went in for surgery today and it went very well!  Her surgery took place about 45 minutes away, so my sister, niece and I are going to drive up there tomorrow to visit her in the hospital.  She had to have surgery on her knee (I believe it was a complete knee replacement)...  Luckily my dad was able to be there for her (check her in, wait with her, see her when the surgery was done)...  I whipped up this little beauty to give to her, and I had to incorporate crutches since that is how she will be getting around for a while!

Celebrate the Occasion- any occasion (must be circle shaped)
Paper Playtime- anything goes

Mini Monograms- card base cut at 5.47"
Walk in My Garden- flowers cut at 1.47", 1", 0.76" (I just layered them on top of each other)
George and Basic Shapes- plaid circle cut at 4.06", green circle cut at 3.47"
Everyday Paper Dolls- crutches cut at 5.59"
My Pink Stamper Stamps- Spectacular Sayings
Button brads
White gel pen

There it is!  I kept this one nice and simple...  I wanted it to have a cheerful feel...  My niece also wanted to make a card for "gagga".  She came up with all of the colors, cuts, sizes, and the sentiment inside.  She even used the Cuttlebug all by herself (well, kind of by herself)!  We wanted to see what this little Kindergartener would come up with, and the result is so cute!  Here is a picture of what she created....  :)

Enjoy!  :)

Hello Card

Here's a quick card I made....

A2 sized card
Mini Monograms cartridge- letters cut at 1 1/2"
*To create the background I stamped brown paper with a background stamp in VersaMark ink.  Then I used clear embossing powder and a heat tool to create the swirls.  I used Stampin' Up's scallop edge punch and my white gel pen for the pink strip.  The black paper on the letters is also embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used foam tape to pop up the letters.  I added green ribbon and rounded the corners to finish it off.
See ya!
