Halloween Mini Cards

Hello everyone!  I know it's only August (well almost September), but I couldn't wait to make some Halloween cards!  Back around Valentine's Day there was a challenge to create a "mini" card (3 x 3"), and I couldn't believe how cute that size turned out to be!  So....  I decided to make some "mini" cards for Halloween...  Our challenge this week at Joy's Life was to create a project using Cri-Kit pens.  I had never used these before, but they are amazing!  I don't know what kind of gel pens these are, but they don't leave blank spots in the lines like my regular pens do!  It's so fun to watch the Cricut drawing out your image instead of cutting it (I'm easily entertained)!  :)  Here are my cards...

To make these: I used my Gypsy to decide on the size of the image, then I put a 2 3/4" square piece of white paper on the mat, and it drew the images right where I wanted them.  After they were drawn, I just had to tape the white pieces onto the card bases (3 x 6" folded in half), stamp the sentiments, and embellish them a bit.  Easy peasy!!!

Mini Monsters- spider & web drawn at 1.86"
Joy's Life Stamps- Halloween Puns
Cri-Kits pens- glitter set
Stickles- turquoise
Googly eyes

Celebrate with Flourish- witch drawn at 2.22"

Stickles- green

Gypsy Wanderings- pumpkin drawn at 1.98"

Stickles- orange peel
Twine

Graphically Speaking- eyes drawn at 1.86"
Joy's Life Stamps- Halloween Puns

Stickles- Christmas red

I thought these could be given out to kids, co-workers, family, friends, etc.  Just attach one of these to a Halloween treat and VOILA!  Thanks for stopping by!!!!  :)

Happy Easter Card

Hello everyone!!!  I am having so much fun making Easter/spring cards!  I didn't have my blog at this time last year, so I am excited to join in on the fun this time!  It's my design team day over at Joy's Life, and the challenge this week was to create a project for Easter.  I love these colors, and I just had to use a rabbit on at least one of my Easter cards, so this is what I came up with!  :)

Wild Card- scalloped card cut at 4.65"
Celebrate with Flourish- rabbit/grass cut at 3.35"
George and Basic Shapes- circle cut at 3.82"
Cuttlebug- d'vine swirls
Joy's Life Stamps- Holiday Occasions

That's it!  I love the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge!  You can make a really detailed card, and it doesn't require a ton of layering, etc...  Hope you enjoy, and thanks for hopping by on this fine spring day!!!  :)

Sunny Days- Twisted Easel Card

There are a lot of challenges out there right now that have a summer theme.  It feels pretty appropriate because today is the first official day of summer, and in my neck of the woods we are supposed to hit a high of 105 degrees today!!!!  AAAAHHHH so HOT!!!  Anywho, I've been seeing this type of card a lot lately, and I wanted to give it a try!  It is called a twisted easel card/fold.  I did not know how to do this, so I looked it up on You Tube (the video I watched is here).  The beautiful things about this card are that it is completely flat when closed, and it fits in an A2 sized envelope!!  YAY!

Operation Write Home- Back to School Cards

I was searching through blogs this morning and I came across one that is called Operation Write Home (OWH).  This is an amazing project that enlists crafters like us to make cards for soldiers to use.  The cards are sent to soldiers overseas, and they can write in the cards and send them to their loved ones.  The Stars and Stamps blog is having a Back to School challenge right now, and I just knew I needed to join.  The military and children really tug at my heartstrings, and this touches on both of those!!  Here are the two cards that I came up with for this challenge...

Both cards are size A2
Top Card:
Celebrate with Flourish:  "Back to School" cut at 2.84"
Cuttlebug:  stars
Glossy Accents
White gel pen
Bottom Card (this one was giving me photography problems):
Hello Kitty Greetings:  books & apple cut at 3.71"
Sentiment was done on my computer using Kristen font, size 36
White gel pen
Black pen

I am also going to be using this in two linky parties.....  I think it would be great if a lot of people see this and want to participate too!  :)

Wedding Card

Hello again..... I am really becoming addicted to entering card challenges!  Now I am posting two things in one day again!!!!  My cousin Krystal got married yesterday and I didn't have their wedding card finished in time, so I am going to give this to them as soon as possible....  On Monday, my family and I helped Krystal and Andrew make their wedding cake and wedding cupcakes.  I think it turned out super adorable and we all worked so well together and had so much fun making this cake!  :)  The color theme was black and white, with splashes of blue and yellow.  This is a picture of the cake that we all came up with together.

Now onto the card that I made for them.....  I am going to be entering this card into two challenges:
Cricut Cardz Challenge:  make a wedding card using any cartridge and colors http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/06/cricut-cardz-challenge-78.html
